DESCRIPTION: Length up to 7.5mm.  A small black and white Shield Bug identified by the extensive white side-margins of the pronotum, the white L-shapes on the corium, the chequered connexivum and the dark wing membrane. Note should be made that final instar nymphs are darker than those of the Pied Shield Bug (T. bicolor). BEHAVIOUR: Adults are easily seen in bright sunshine but become harder to spot in dull weather. Females show great brood vcare over their eggs. DISTRIBUTION: Very scarce in South-East Britain from Kent to East London. HABITAT: Found around the chosen foodplant of Black Horehound, a species that is very common on the continent.
